"Being an independent owner in today’s appliance business is rare,” says Peter Martin, owner of Peter Martin Appliances.

Martin began his career in the early 70s, solely in the service aspect of the appliance business. Then, in the early 80s, when Calder TV and Appliances became available, he purchased the company offering both retail, and service, on major appliances to his customers in Hamilton and thesurrounding area. “It is the service aspect of our business that has helped us develop a real niche in the market.

Since 1981, almost 20 independent appliance retailers have left the marketplace in Hamilton, however, with Peter Martin’s commitment to quality in all areas, especially customer satisfaction, his business has expanded to 3 locations, a Clearance Centre at 140 Hester Street in Hamilton,  a store located at Centennial and Barton near Stoney Creek and the original store at 536 Upper Wellington

Family owned and operated by Martin and his three sons, Martin takes pride in different aspects of his business. “We have an exceptional selection of new appliances and our in-store presentation is superior.When you call Peter Martin Appliances for service, you are calling us directly. All of the service and repairs are handled in house. Being readily available to our customers has definitely strengthened our position in the market.”

Always ready to answer questions, customers can speak directly to the knowledgeable and welltrained sales or service staff as required. Getting good advice is something else that the customers of Peter Martin Appliances have been benefiting from for many years now. “We provide our customers with the best information available, selling them what best suits their specific needs,” says Martin.
